"sounds similar to neighboring country where Olympics and Tibet are burning issues."

Except that in Japan it isn't all the time. Yes, only when freedom of speech/expression is needed the most.

initially it was said that the Hong Kong guys were members of some activist party, and they were finally let in after being questioned about their reasons to enter Japan (which seems reasonable). now they turned into journalists or these are different guys?

My God, Japan. What reason do they have for denying journalists?

‘‘The situation might damage freedom of speech,’’

Might??? From recent events, any trouble at the summit is more likely to come from within Japan and not from foreigners.

Japanese communists are afraid of truth? When will the world realize what`s going on here? There has been Global Outcry by U.N. and Human Rights group about new immigration rules in Europe. Well, there is no such outcry toward Japan, why? Are everyone scared of something?

anyone wanna bet that these journalists are trying to enter on a tourist visa? if they are here for the summit they are not here for tourism but for work.
