Most armies train for warfare in different climatic conditions. Doesn't mean they are going to invade anywhere.

Ya ya never know, with the rise of islamic terrurusts in jungle environments of the southeast asia, as well as latin america and africa, ya never know, best be ready. Heck they still train in arctic conditions, and when's the last time you heard of al qaeda of antartica.

One would think that there are better places to train for jungle warfare than Okinawa. Israel has no need to train for jungle warfare, all the countries that want to attack her are desert or semi-arid countries.

Armies are supposed to defend their countries. Training the Bundeswehr for jungle warfare is utter nonsense.

Even on a UN mandate there is no reason for such training since you should then send the army of the country already trained for the kind of climate affecting the operation.

Meanwhile mercenaries goes everywhere.

****A year from now will show a completely different picture. I predict we will move our Marines to the Marianas and we will never fight the type of war we used during WWII.
