    a clean and open dike, should bring plenty of enjoyment. the fishy smell might deter some though

    Good to see reason prevailing in this decision. However, the bureacrats will not admit their fault in closing off the bay to start with. Look to them to appeal ad nauseum just to be bloody-minded.

    On a more realistic note, I wonder what the merits are of reopening this closed body of water after so long? Although I understand the point-of-view of the fishermen, what would the environmental risks be of reopening this area to the sea?
