    The Diet building

    A place for self destructions!

If he was an officer, we might have taken pity and disappointment for his non-resolving attempt to die. But a NCO impying that he is a samurai and epicly failing is lulz, nontheless I take pity for his mental illness, I hope he gets well soon.

This guy was such a whimp. And no he's not an 'officer' he's a "Non-commissioned Officer". And mr. pathat, that is not a 'bottom-feeder'. Don't put all in certain ranks down on your level. As a corporal he probably had appropriate training but as a human being he really fails to impress. Hope he survives and gets a nice nickname like pokey or something along that lines. And a dishonorable discharge so he can go back to the pachinko parlors.

If the guy wanted to die, he could have eaten a bullet or gassed himself in the bathroom. JT says "minor injuries" and I read on another source the injuries are not life-threatening. He wanted to be caught for whatever reason.

Clearly, this guy has serious psychological problems, and I hope he recovers both physically and mentally. It would appear to me, that this was a clear "cry for help", in that a guy in the "physical training school" could only hurt himself in a minor way.

But why the Diet building? Given, lighting yourself on fire in front of an embassy is a classical form of protest, but without an overt political motive it probably doesn't apply here.

It's funny how these guys don't really have the will to rip open their guts and die when it comes to crunch time

Much to his credit, he did stab himself "multiple times", perhaps failing to realize that drawing it across in a single cut would have caused more damage. Down the road, not across the street!

If the guy wanted to die, he could have eaten a bullet or gassed himself in the bathroom.

Let me guess, with bath detergent and other household chemicals?

I served in the army as an orifice. Corporals are NCOs, along with Sergeants. Although they don't issue orders like the orifices, they are the backbone of any army.

‘‘This is samurai’s mercy. Let me die,’’ congrats big stuff. you`re officially an intellectual desert.....

    bushlover:

I was a junior NCO once upon a time, and, yes, it does mean you are a bottom feeder.

Don't put all in certain ranks down on your level.

Impressive, bushlover, just like your hero, GWB.

Since the Defense Agency was upgraded to the Defense Ministry, it has become increasingly apparent that the SDF has a lot of problems in the ranks.

For these suiciders, the Diet should make something like that hospital baby hatch, but more like a chute, and with rotating blades.

This guy was such a whimp.

    Oh he whas, whas he?

  • jonjavajones at 03:44 PM JST - 9th May

Does anyone know more about this story? What was his motivation? Was he protesting getting sent somewhere? Did he feel he dishonored himself somehow? With such a small slice of Japanese youth volunteering to serve, I would think most of them would be pretty stable. On a side note, why would the pity be more appropriate if he was an officer NeoJamal?

How do they know the wall is 2.5 metres high ? Has anyone measured it ? And why 2.5 metres ? Why not 2 metres, or 3 metres..?

Sounds to me live he must have rented and watched "Mishima" the night before and just got too excited.

  • himasan at 05:13 PM JST - 10th May

Everyones on the cleaning chemical cocktail bandwagon so he`s trying something different in the suicide department, he should have gutted himself true samurai style though.
