Good for the decision. Rules are rules, I don't care what country, you break immigration rules, adios amigos. And this guy didn't prove any sort of real hardship or persecution from being sent back to his home country. Maybe next time people will learn to do things the right way.

rjd jr. There is a human emotion called Empathy that you should spend a little time learing about. If you faced imprisonment, political or other persecution and were desperate to find a place to escape it, I wonder what lengths you would go to for self preservation and safety. Would you bend or break the rules? Would you try any option at your disposal? It is easy to sit at your PC and tout how "Rules are Rules" when you have no idea of what political or other persecution feels like or what it would motivate someone to do. Try walking in the man's shoes for a while and we will see if you still think the absolute of rules still stands. The world has a growing shortage of empathy and that dehumanizes us more than anything else in the world. Maybe some day you will learn that situations are not always so orderly. Then we'll see how much empathy you are able to obtain. I hope more than you give.

Well tkoind2, I would normally agree with your empathy part but the fact remains that this man failed to prove any sort of extraordinary circumstance that would mean his persecution or worse if returned to Iran. If it were a situation where his life was in danger, sure I would understand, but again, nothing was proven. I know there was a recent case I believe in Europe where a gay Iranian male was going to be deported even though his sexual status would have led to persecution. That I can understand. Again, this man did not prove extraordinary circumstances, and if he is allowed to break the rules, then everyone will want to do so. I stand by my opinion in this case, rules are rules, he broke them so he should be deported.
