I just wonder if any 'activist' supporters can tell us exactly what they are 'protesting'. Without conspiracy theories getting involved. If they only know how much Mr.Dediddo will do for them to go under the radar they'd probably seek him out for a good outing of karaoke and yakitori and forget what they came for.

You mean like the conspiracy theories of your govt.? You've just blocked anyone answering your own question. LOL

I don't have an issue with this. Known activists arrive just ahead of the G8 then surely they need a convincing reason of their "timely" visit.

I hear a lot about protesters "protesting the G8 Summit," but in many cases the summit is just a venue for a protest of something else. This is sloppy reporting, and it's typical of Japanese media coverage of the G8. "If you're a protestor, you must be protesting the summit" is the (wrong) idea.

How do they know they're protesters? Is it written on their passports? Are their names on some sort of database which the immigration officers have access to?

Hey, I drove back to Sapporo this afternoon from Hakodate and I have NEVER seen so many J-cops in my life at and around Toya... The wife and I counted over 350 police vehicles in a 100 km stretch of the expressway - but mostly between Oshamambe and Higashi-Mororan exits..about 50 of those were full blown J-cop jail transporters and riot control busses...

I don't know how these "protesters" feel they are gonna be received up here but they certainly have the numbers to repel a crowd the size of a SMAP concert... 8-)

Not only has the Expressway have limited access for several days before, during and after the summit but even Sapporo city has signs out saying that access and traffic will be "limited" ( whatever that means ) during the summit as well...

Should be interesting up here - but they appear hell bent to stop anything in advance... They even had patrol cars stationed at the entrance and exit of each rest area and IC's with at least two officers watching every car that exited or entered while flagging the occasional one down for an inspection...

Nessie – I understand the acticists have the right to protest against anything. I also see they have the right to remain silent on any other issues. I need to go to the Southern Tibetan border to count the number of escaping beings. I will make sure to hit them between the eyes before I conduct...
