Great!
International cooperation and support on the part of Japan has been outstanding. Much more done by Japan over the years, non-politically, but out of true humanitarian consideration than any other nation, including the USA.
Although USA probably can boast of church or other private enterprise organized humanitarian action than most other nations, actual non-political, non-monetary and no strings attached (no precondition) programs have been headed by the Japanese all over the world. One reason why there were so many nations coming to Japan's aid after the 3/11 disasters.
What do other nations say to that?

Japan is one of the largest foreign aid donor that coincided with the onset of economic stagnation. With the Japanese economy sliding into recession, taxpayers in Japan have doubts about whether disbursing vast amounts of money as foreign aid in times of domestic economic hardship is justifiable. The J-goverment should make the process of foreign aid more transparent and accessible to the scrutiny of the general public.
The J-government gives preference of giving bilateral loans, which need to be repaid, rather than bilateral grants. Japan is a 'debt collector' because the J-government's policy of giving loans to poor countries. Although Japan gives large amount of money each year, it also collects large debt payments from poor countries. Japan has a right to be repaid, but this makes its net contribution look far less impressive than that of other rich countries.

@kazetsukai very little news about Japan reaches the local channels. It's all about this tiny little place and sometimes a bit of odd news on the far away. Most opinion on u.s. is their idea of humanitarian is sending in the stealth bombers, levelling the place and then go in like the liberators.
