What country has the need or the right to militarize space? To take our squabbles into space is literally a step in the wrong direction....

Global navigation satellite system market has huge commercial potential for both NEC and Mitsubishi. Developing military capabilities is a costly and diverse market, forging a partnership to share the cost as well as the risk could be a way forward. Shared research and development is a area worth considering investment.

It's well known that China has been working on anti-satellite capability for fighting with the US, so it only makes sense for Japan to work on adequate defenses. As for not having the right to militarize space, perhaps the martians should send their army to put a stop to it.
