Pretty much the rest of the world is offended by their apology towards Muslims. Shouldn't they be apologizing towards everyone else now too? Or is it just Muslims that deserve consideration?

At least the Japanese government is saying that taking offense is "regrettable" instead of the cartoon itself. I think this is the first government to take this stance. Other governments with similar situations (the EU has a few) bent over backwards to apologize to the Muslim communities who are outraged at small jokes. Individuals are not bad, it is fundamentalist (often hypocritical) dogma that needs to be brought down a few notches. A well placed joke here and there in the media will take the feeling of power from their fingers and bring there numbers to a standstill. This particular case is a bit more serious than others, but people need to lighten up.

The Japanese govt. is afraid of Islamikaze attacks on its railroads, shopping malls and sushi bars. Normal relgions take humor and criticism. Islam responds with mass psychosis. A rememinder: No Jew ever blew himself up in a German restaurant.

A character picked up a koran and ordered someone's murder. Sounds like Ayatollah Khomeini ordering Salman Rushidie's death while most of the so called free world sat on their hands. You are talking about people who persecute and kill non Muslims or kill their own if they leave their faith. But of course it has nothing to do with the koran.

Muslims need to learn more self-criticism and tolerance. Try living in most Muslim majority countries as a Christian and you'll experience truly "offensive" things! Everyday some comic or cartoonist is trashing Christianity and making fun of God and Jesus but you don't see widespread calls for violence by Christian leaders to go and kill the Infidels who insulted our beliefs. I am sick of this hypocrisy. Look at how many countries in the world where Muslim terrorist groups are making trouble or brutal Islamic regimes make the l[ive of non-Muslims a living hell, yet they are so quick to take extreme offense at a stupid cartoon! Grow up! Get out of the 7th century mindset and into the 21st century please.

Netrek, if you knew anything about Islam, you would know that Christianity is part of Islam, just as Judaism is part of Christianity. I would like some evidence of those cartoons that make fun of Christianity. Give me proof to believe you.
You don't think there is radical Christianity? you are wrong. There is radicalism in Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
By the way the Article never said they took extreme offense at the cartoon. Have you ever lived in a Muslim Majority country? Can you prove what you say? If you do I will believe you. Just give me some actual proof. Not something Fox news tolled you. I am just a seeker for the truth, so if you can prove me wrong, I will beleive you.

As for the second, why does Islam accept Christianity but have a holy book (the Koran) which instructs Mohammedans to wage war against the Jews?
