A very nice gesture, but as always Japan has always been one of the first to offer assistance to others in need especially during moments of natural disasters. Great for them.

So, how much is China giving? I think they have the most vested in this country and it's dictatorship.

How generous! Knowing that 28 million Yen are little more than 260,000 US dollars, and that such a paltry amount comes for a country that in 2006 had a GDP of 4.218 TRILLION US dollars says so much about how Japan does care about his needy Asian neighbours...

28million yen aid amount is based on inflated domestic market price which equals to not more than 1/10th of International Market Value. Anyway, Myanmar people will welcome any tiny help in this critical situation.

28 mil yen is like 1 yen for every 5 Japaneses!I remember ,not that long ago ,for a disaster relief of this scale the donation from rich country like Japan or US were ALWAYS some kind of multi millions dollars plus. What is happenning these days? Are people all suffering from compassion fatigue?Or the faces of those generals just piss everybody off?

    OK kids, reading comprehension time.

"Japan will provide tents, power generators and other humanitarian supplies in response to a request from the Myanmar government, the officials said."

    • No actual money is being given.
    • What's being given is in response to Myanmar's request

China gave US$500,000 cash plus US$500,000 tents, foods, etc.

It's pity and ashamed that Myanmar Regime will not deliver aid to disaster area. Unless UN or NGO go direct to the disaster area. That's why they don't accept UN poople. I think this is the right time to go into Burma for US, UN by force. If they don't do now, more and more popople will die. As to help human life, I would like to ask US force to get into Burma now. PLEASE HELP US. Burma Regime is not human, they are EVIL, they will never listen just by telling, they don't care about local people dying. They must be punished.
