. With the Yen the same rate to the Pound (186 Yen/ £1) as it was when i was on holiday in 2004.
I wish I had the money to go again.
wtfjapan
and there are still people that think a strong yen is better for Japan, LOL

It depends on who you are. Most people are worse off, though (may 75-80%). Hopefully the influx of foreigners encourage dialogue to counter the growing ignorance and fascism in Japan...well I can hope as an optimist!

Good for Japan, since having tourists come in and spend money can offset to some degree the weakness in domestic spending. But, let's touch the brakes just a little -- Las Vegas had 40 million visitors this year. So Japan still has a long way to go before it can start congratulating itself too much.

Jersey boy, Las Vegas got 40 million visitors in a country of 300 million, not to mention a good chunk of that is because of the over 20,000 conventions that are held there. Kyoto gets over 50 million visitors in a country of 125 million. So your point is? You can't compare cities and counties, let alone domestic and overseas visitors.

I am talking about the overall economy with Abenomics...most are worse off. The tourism industry is likely one part of the 15%. I am thinking of trying something with this though since I am bilingual...why not!
