Japan is sending medical supplies to Mexico, that's worth more than Y100M for those in need. From international market standards it may not be worth more than Y10M though.

Too little too late?

Just about anything now is too little too late. Mexico has the highest number of deaths because it's medical system, and we can extrapolate that to it's society is backwards. If these initial patients had proper medical diagnosis and care early on many of them wouldn't be dead. Which is another way of saying that had this outbreak happened in an advanced developed country it would have been identified and contained quicker.

who knows what direction this kinda situation can take...its bound to upsurge again so this may help them get ready for the next round. gotta be grateful for any assistance, its not a god given right to recieve millions of yen in aid.
However, if those numbers are right (and i severely doubt it) i wonder about 190,000 masks ,at a production cost of 5-10yen each, and a few boxes of rubber gloves (they come in tissue size boxes of 100 for about US$6-$8)- so thats a smal pile of 30 boxes..and if you had 20-40 bottles/box of antiseptic then even 20 boxes may make up the 1370.... so we have something like a crate of say 2mx2mx1m, mostly full of paper masks....somehow totaling 100milion yen and sent to Mexico as foreign aid. wouldnt want to waste a lovely silk parachute dropping them from a plane even.
I think the freight charges would be higher than the production costs of the contents. But still, gotta be thankful for whatever comes ur way...
@Ossan claiming a society is backwards is just such an arrogant stance to take Im dumbfounded! Assuming the wholeworld has facilities to the level of the US or other countries, and then belivieing crap such as "it wouldnt happen in my own country"......man...

Thanks Tokyocrawler! If guys like Ossan think Mexico is backwards, wait till this virus hits real lovely places like El Salvador, Nicaragua,Boliva, Haiti etc..these hard core 3rd world countries make Mexico look like a Beverly Hills country club. I just pray this virus is controlled before it does go to even poorer countries (Costa Rica) actually already has at least 1 proven case in that country, Cuba and Argentina are suspending all flights to Mexico. Thanks Japan for the help but I think many, many more rich countries will have to do a lot more to prevent these kinds of outbreaks.
