    Vacuum thermal insulators is not new, it's been used overseas for 10-20 years. Japan still doesn't even know how to vent a house correctly.

    and they have no clue how to insulate a home. just think of the A/C costs in summer and heating in winter. my brand new condo has SINGLE GLAZING... ridiciolous.

    let's keep in mind that Japan never really adopted central heating/cooling in homes and therefore uses half the energy per capita as the US or Canada. Perhaps these things you people think are lacking are simply not needed.

    In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10% : )
