This almost brings me to tears! If could try and focus more on PEACE, yes PEACE how to help each other, not WAR, not on killing each other like animals in a horrible jungle, maybe, just maybe we could actually call ourselves HUMANS, and many many more YAMATOS could be changed into energy for PEACEFUL USE instead of horror, pain and suffering. IMHO.

A searchlight reflector doesn't qualify as a "weapon". It was a part of a device that helped the fire control room target enemy ships - but only when it was dark. It would be like taking the oil from the sunken battleship, reusing it at a power plant, and calling THAT converting "a weapon into energy for peaceful use."

It IS interesting that they've taken something that was designed to only be useful at night and turned it into something that is only useful during the day... and then only when the sun is out.

This spotlight was obsolete by the time of Heaven Force One. By this time more and more American ships had guns used radar targeting. Second the spotlight works both ways. Lastly if it was so useful why was it in a warehouse?

Now if only the Russians, the Chinese, the Muslims, the Jews, Hindus oh yeah, the AMERICANS tried to convert their weapons of hate into energy for peaceful use, that is my hope and my dream, do away with all nuclear weapons, all machine guns, all land mines etc..GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!! ASAP!
