corruption will be the death of such countries. no country in the undeveloped world can improve themselves as long as such 'people' comes up as leaders of their country.

Bangladesh is a desperatley poor country yet I support the finance being withdrawn by the involved parties. In countries like bangladesh and many throughout Asia and Africa, it is taken as a given by the ruling elite that a hefty percentage will be going into their pockets, they will be set for life and bugger the peasents. More of this tough love attitude is needed. How rich are the leaders of Afghanistan and Iraq for example? Ever seen or heard of an African leader spending his last days in poverty? If a country cannot account for where the money they have recieved has gone then they should be granted no funding. Better off flying over the slums in a helicopter and throwing millions of dollars over them. At least then you would know it got to the people who need it.

    SimonB, thank you, how true!

Just look at all the countries, where "tough love" has made such a difference! Where everything is no longer corrupt, and everybody is happy, and no one is hungry.....
