With all the technology, why not fire an EMP burst or use smart bombs and end it at the launch pad once and for all as a sign that sanctions are not working. China has proven that it has no teeth in this fight nor will to enforce action on NK. However one can't blame NK completely as IRAN who has the backing of Russia are the drivers behind NK. Sanctions and hot gas from Obama amount to 0 (nothing) except make the UN look weak and powerless.

@bj. Carpetbombing a nuclesr armed country, which won a war with the US in the past, led by a maniac dictator, will only lead to mass civilian deaths on both sides.if you were that crazy son, where would put your subs?

DPRK is 30 km from Seoul. Some articles say they'd have problems shooting that far, some say they wouldn't. But I think the articles saying they'd have problems are missing that the area between Seoul and the border is not unpopulated. Just search google images for North Korea at night. There are high-rises and shopping malls within 1 km of the river between DPRK and ROK north of Seoul. The first link is one of the high-rises, at Dangdong-ri Munsan-Eup.

I feel like they're really milking this N Korea threat....

You know what? North Korea is the one which has to change the route

Great headline: Do you mean "rather than flying directly into its path"? Is this prior to, or following, said launch?

I feel it too, this is only a rocket and s far as the facts stands after the launch. Govt and TV media are all calling it "loudly" a missile like it was aimed to 1) Japan target and 2) carrying some nuclear weapon, what a blatant attempt to control the public opinion by spreading fear.
