    "In 2004, Daisuke Inoue won the peace award for inventing karaoke" that's maybe the best I ever heard!

    Last year, researcher Mayu Yamamoto won the chemistry award.

    I remember that one -- she was extracting vanilla seeds from cow dung and at the event they served ice cream made from the vanilla. Yeeecchhh!

    The Ig Nobel peace award was given to a Swiss governmental ethics >committee and Swiss citizens for promoting the idea that plants have the >same dignity as humans.

    Good. I hope someone creates People for the Ethical Treatment of Plants so they can harass vegetarians.
