What's the point of having japanese signs in Singapore to attract japanese tourists ,put those signs, advertisements in japan ?!?!?!

Well the point in putting signs in Japanese is to accomodate the tourists that visit Singapore. It's plain economics, since Jp people spend so much money whereever they go, it makes sense to accomodate them or any other large groups of tourist. The hope is that numbers will go up.

There's a sign in Japanese on Changi beach. It says something like "On this spot in 19** the Japanese army massacred civilians". That won't do much to attract the black bus brigade.

Why does the Tamil who lives in Singapor complain? Does he not know where the Tamil temple is? He wants a sign in Tamil for who? Come on. Most Singaporean Tamils know English which is the language of the school system. Some older Tamils dont know English and not all Tamils know Tamil so what's the fuss? But thhe Singpore government should allow free speech.

Why so afraid to let those who feel slighted a say?

Anyway it is a good chance for Japanese to better their English..there are already good maps in Japanese..

Thats where you guys are making the mistake. They are not against the usage of Japanese language. Its just that the Tamil signs were removed in the process of adding the Japanese signs. If the signboards were in all four national languages which includes Tamil, and also in the Japanese language, there won't be any problem at all.Its just a small misunderstanding, please don't jump to conclusions.
