    I agree Ossan but for the most part I think people in China and elsewhere won't see too much into this than a port of call cultural exchange.

    That my be wishful thinking. Clearly the Chinese govt is intent on improving relations with Japan. Yet their request for JSDF assistance which Japan accepted was cancelled due to the ultra-nationalists and their anti-japan sentiments. Even the just agreed upon gas deal is under fire.

    I really would not be surprised if these people went as far as to hold a demonstration against "revived Japanese Imperialism". Of course right now they'd probably get their heads pounded by the police, but still...
