Hope he is on the way to quick recovery and rest.
As I said before, this is a very demanding job. Japan needs to find someone else who is mentally and physically strong to do this job in the most critical time. The relationship between Japan and China is on the way down to tube every day while you wait. It is very critical to keep the healthy dialogue going between the two.

Can we send an unhealthy ambessador to solve such complex political problem?

I bet Niwa is put back into his position.

The trouble with Niwa was he privately complained that Japan's position on the Senkakus was hurting the economic relationship. That makes him a no-go. No Japanese government can sustain the appointment of Niwa.

Mizuame,
Yes, I know what you're saying, but who can they send to handle such a problem? There is nobody else with enough experience.

The whole relationship with China should be in intensive care.

Hahhaha, back in WWII when some soldiers didn't want to fight, they'd shoot themselves in the leg to get out of active duty. They'll appoint someone else quickly.
