Any serious estimates on what an equivalent sized building would cost powered by normal means? Would be interested to see the economical cost of this. Does sound like greenwashing though.

They will also ciontribute to global warming with their reflective surfaces. Make 1 giant building and a giant park to go with it!

Nooooooooooooooooooo!
This can't be true, Osaka going eco-friendly?!
Seems every little bit of space here gets turned into a car park or shopping centre, or apartment buildings, anything to make MONEY!
Osaka is the prime example of how totally and utterly eco-unfriendly Japan can be at times. I guess this building is... Alright.

a 200 watt Sharp solar panel costs about $1000 U.S.
Once you get a system like this you become more aware of your energy useage. With more people buying these systems the costs will go down.
Sharp makes the best solar panels but the costs are higher (x3), with the cheaper ones you only get 1/3 the wattage of a Sharp panel (the cheaper systems take 3x the size). The Sharp panels are warranted for 25 yrs.
-many people laughed at the Toyota Prius Hybrid, but now that fuel costs are high people are interested in the Tech and so are other car companies.

I live here, They are stuck in the 60s. The manner on the street here is primitive, chainsmoking on platforms, littering, loud motorcycles, people pushing, no wait at red lights. I go across the river to Kobe to work and its like a proper eco advanced society or world like an EU/US state or Sydney, whatever and I have clean air. I love Japan and yes we have our place on the slow market. It is weird how they just slap buildings up here... so that dude in the ugly black suit dumps 80 flyers in my mailbox looking for buyers... as said... idiots.
