God I hate this, same crap as Tama-chan, foreigners have to sell their souls to get special residency status... This is the side of Japan I hate, the main problem is that the officials in charge of this can't even see their is a problem.

    gogogo,

Yeah, I hate this side of Japan too. The Japanese basically detest foreigners and like sea-otters though, so to them there is no problem.

animals are great. none of the complications that go hand in hand with human relationships. robots are also great for the same reason

Stamped with the governments Seal of approval I bet. Although I am sure that it has no right to vote and must carry the ID card with it at all times or face being whiskered away. When it finally applies for unemployment assistance maybe they will offer it 300,000 yen and ask it to splash off and never return. Get Otter it people, Kushiro is a dive anyway.

On the otterhand, giving out residency cards to animals is one way of boosting the population.

ku-chan's residency was fast tracked due to him being married to a japanese otter, and having some lucrative business interests

Ku-Chan>Whiny expats who complain anything and everything about Japan.

After so many years of posting this site, I tend to agree.

Now. Just wait until a certain activist up North starts whining about this on his infamous blog.

Did it come in legally by the way?

Heard a rumor/rumour that it's a North Korean intelligence-gathering mini sub with realistic otter-like movements.

Wait until Kushiro finds out that Ku-chan is actually names Vladimir, and he has Russian citizenship.

What a kind and wonderful gesture - Congratulations to Mayor Hiroya Ebina and the citizens of this great city of Kushiro, Hokkaida for adding the sea Otter to the list of their citizens. Amazingly, the celebrity, Ku-chan made an appearance during the ceremony speech by the Mayor. It seems as if Ku-chan was saying thank you to the Mayor and fellow citizens of his home city Kushiro, Hokkaida. The Japanese are a Great People.

"If only it were that simple for people"

Seems to me to be very unfair for Ku-chan to get special residency when some hard-working people can't.
