Another day, another rude awakening here in Iwate. Comes on the 6 year anniversary of a deadly tremor that struck Ichinoseki and killed 12 people. The epicenter of today's quake was a little further north but uncomfortably situated beneath some of Tohoku's active volcanoes. Even earthquake resistant buildings don't hold up very well against pyroclastic eruptions.
