was about 30km from the epicentre on the 5th floor with a room full of 4 year olds (not what you think you pervs) I was cowering under the table, they were jumping on top of it shouting "mou ikkai!" once it had finished. oh to be young and fearless again...

Hardly felt it here in Tokyo at all. In fact, ignored it.
My (Japanese) wife reacted - "earthquake!"
She said 'You look like a local (used to earthquakes).'
I said 'You look like gaijin (not used to earthquakes).'

I hardly pay any attention to earthquake of magnitude less than 6.00 in Japan. elsewhere M5.0 will be of some concern.
