Only moderate shaking here in south Iwate, but I could tell that somebody somewhere was getting rocked big time. I'm at the point where I can tell those sort of things after living in Tohoku for the past 5 years. The one we had Wednesday night had stronger shaking and was much noisier but didn't last as long.

There is a lot of seismic activity around Japan over the last few weeks... a bit freaky if you ask me. Something is going on with the plates down there...
Lets hope this number 7 was the "big finale" and that something bigger is not about to come.

Wow! Lots of action the fault this week. Miyake island near Tokyo has been shaking it tits off all week too. Also had a few shakers in and around Tokyo this week. Update your earthquake survival kits people. No body knows when it will come, but most agree it is coming.

M7.0 quake jolts islands off northern Japan; no news

JMA has this earthquake at a depth of 10km, which sounds more plausible considering the extensive shaking I guess, but who knows.

The 3/11 9.0 probably shook things up at both ends of the fault. Sorry for the pun. So now it's a wait see game for everything south of Fukushima and north of the Tsugaru strait.

It would be great if it would settle down but while their is continuing amounts of movement they should not be massive from pressure build up.
