why should not kids be allowed to smoke?

After reaching certain age, does it become OK for health?

In my country, ciggs are bad for health of not just kids but adults also. So, there is no such regulations. U can start from any age - same rule holds true for alcoholic bevg. too.

All of which became so-called 'law' last July

Just because something is law in one country, doesn't make it wrong if it is not in another.

Maybe the tabacco helps him relax. Can't a guy have a smoke?

I'm a Dakota, techall, a Yankton. I smoked for a while in college to keep myself awake at night and then get up early in the morning but never did develop a habit. I quit after college, which was smart. I lost a good friend of mine to lung cancer a few years ago and she was young. To all the smokers out there, I hope it doesn't happen to you.

One kid buys a pack of cigarettes from a badly programmed machine. Discuss!

  • shitagidorobo at 09:17 AM JST - 19th April

They should have the machines do a urine test to determine the buyer's age...

I wonder how many packs this boy's parents per day? I hate to see these poor kids stuck in cars, and their idiot addicted parents smoking like a smoke stack, and these same kids end up with lung diseases and sooner or later addicted to nicotine too.

  • dokachin at 08:00 PM JST - 20th April

The police caught him in the act or strolling down the street having a smoke?? I think the point is the parents need to be warned and get rid of the machines.

  • ca1ic0cat at 09:31 PM JST - 20th April

Oops! Let's blame the machine instead of the kid or the parents!

  • sydenham at 11:33 AM JST - 23rd April

In other news: boy mistakenly buys cigarettes from machine thinking they are the key to coolness.

  • SiouxGirl at 02:49 PM JST - 23rd April

Actually, I'll side with the poster who said this 10yo was probably buying for older kids. Could be teens putting him up to this. Not that I like teens smoking, either.

Having Vending machines sell cigarettes is a bad move from the start. Increase convienience to those cancer sticks means people are more likely to smoke. They should limited the places where you can gain access to buy them. I blame the dweeb who allowed them to be sold in vending machines in the first place.

According to JT posters though it would be better if we teach our children that mary jane is better than tabacco. It has better effect. Then it won't be Heiwa boke. it'll just be constant boke.
