Man dies in car crash in Fukuoka
FUKUOKA —
A 43-year-old man died Sunday morning after the car he was driving hit a guardrail on the Kyushu Expressway in Chikushino City, Fukuoka Prefecture, police said. According to police, Kiyoharu Takeshita was thrown from his car when it hit the guardrail around 4:30 a.m. He was taken to hospital but was dead on arrival, police said.
The Kyushu Expressway was closed for four hours. Police have yet to determine the cause of the accident.

If they establish any cause, I reckon it will be insufficient attention on the part of the driver. My guess is that he nodded off. Or maybe he was checking a map, or writing/reading mail on his phone. I pretty sure he wasn't wearing a seat belt but why don't they tell us this? If they did, it might help to convince others to wear their seat belts.

Seat belts save lives, I just hope this story doesn't have a follow up story with a gomenasai suicide note being found in his apartment. But on the other hand, going home at 4:30 am, he may have been leaving a bonenkai and heading home. You never know until the full story comes out.
