OSAKA —

A guy killed someone in Ikebukuro jumping to his death a couple years ago. Horrible to kill someone while checking yourself out early.

She was incredibly lucky. A few centimetres to the wrong side and she might have ended up dead too!

That sucks for the woman who got hit. Just minding her business and someone trying to pwn themselves lands on her.

OK, full conspiracy theory mode: ON...

The guy was dragged to the roof and tossed off just as the woman was walking by to kill HER. Then the guy calls the police as the "witness" to make it not look like a murder. He gets back to the ground level and is dismayed to discover she is not dead, but only injured.

(I have GOT to stop watching CSI!)

Fadamor: stop hitting the crack. do u know how difficult it is to hit even a slowly moving object with a dropped one from 14 floors up? wind, distance, inexperience, the weight of a body.. nevermind

In the Ikebukuro case it was actually a woman who jumped and killed a male pedestrian. Took of her shoes and placed them neatly too, but didn't bother to take the time to think about the people walking below. Anyways, very lucky woman in this case if she only fractured her shoulder.

Man! I'm only about 10 minutes from the building. Unfortunately, I was at work at the time. Would have been interesting to see that.

It also seem pretty bad that I'm almost use to hearing about people topping themselves here. I didn't hear too much of it in the U.S. or Australia.

I thought Japan was a polite society? What happened to look before you leap? Or, maybe it would have been considered rude for him to say,"doitte, doitte, doitte..." Sorry...

Unlike the old days, you don't think of others when you kill yourself today. But then why does the police consider this an accident or suicide and not consider homocide or attempted-murder suicide?

Oh, how awful. Poor woman. I'd be traumatized. What's even worse is when people see the jumper and enourage him or her to jump. That happened when I used to live in Seattle. Terrible!
