A man sustained a minor injury to his right leg at the Tokyo DisneySea Park resort in Chiba Prefecture, when a ride malfunctioned, park officials said Tuesday.
The 34-year-old man from Hokkaido was on the Raging Spirits rollercoaster ride on Monday night when the ride's safety bar raised. Although the ride was in motion, the man later told park operators he felt unsafe and tried to get out of the car, at which point his leg was injured, Fuji TV reported.
Park operators say the ride is to be closed until further notice.

??? Do not understand what this is about, this guy tried to get off while the ride was still in motion??
Probie
Idiot.
I hope this is to repair any damage the idiot did to the ride, which I hope they bill him for; not because they think it's dangerous because one fool did something stupid.

Says it all. This is got to be the weirdest place on earth. Was the operator of the ride sure the guy was this tall? See the Mickey Hand sign showing you must be 153cm tall or have common sense of at least a 7 years old? Guess he failed the second requirement.

I just saw a 3D simulation of the incident on Channel 41. It shows him attempting to get off ride while half of his body was still in the car, and then he fell off and landed on the tracks below. That looked painful to me.

Um Probie, don't judge him for trying to get out if the ride has a friggin loop!

Why close the ride? Self inflicted... move along. Fine the idiot too!

They closed the ride because the safety bar came loose. Now how exactly is that the guys fault? Maybe they should also be fining the ride operator, maintenance and the park too for having unsafe equipment....

Time to sue Mickey.

Surely the g-force of going round the loop at speed would have kept him in his seat?
Whatever, I'm too scared to go on those things anyway... vertigo + low tolerance of fear-inducing rides keeps me away from them. Certainly wouldn't try to get off while the thing was moving. Muppet.

Yea stupid of him to try and get out, but put yourself in his shoes. The safety bar comes loose and you can see a loop the loop ahead on the ride, you really want to go around that with a unfastened safety bar?
cwhite
Even if the safety bar came loose don't try to get out of a moving vehicle. Best you can do is hold on and try not to fall out.

Sounds like this ride is maintained by some real Mickey mouse staff .

$$$$$$$$
Disney has been known to pay well. If he's got a good lawyer and a good X-ray with a PPD report = $$$

I'm sorry but if the safety bar is loose and i'm going into a loop...I'm still not jumping out. I'm going to hold that bar and the one next to me with all my might and take my chances in the loop.
Plus usually in a loop if you its fast enough, you wont fall out. G-forces will push you into the seat. The parts to be scared of are twists and sharp turns.

Disney told him NOT to get out, he gets out and then gets injured. Classic case of stupidity. If he was really scared he, why would he even try to ride it? I was just on that thing two weeks ago, and it's a joke. I've seen scarier rides in a Paris taxi cab.

Is there no emergency brake? Why does this kind of news irritate me? It's a bit like, "Dog injures leg on lamp-post".
