5 meters = 15 feet (approx.) - he must have fallen hard.

"So its root, root, root for the home team," Maybe they'll curtail the 5% alcoholic beverages from now on. Could be a long overdue action.

This is sad. Did this man leave behind a wife and kids?

Its a wonder nothing like this has happened before.

This is an isolated example, not an indictment on the Japanese baseball culture. Proof: as mentioned, it's not happened before. A one time issue is sad, but not something to make a huge issue about.

Millions of people go to games each year in Japan, many if not most drink beer, and very rarely do any incidents happen. I'd say that means there's not a problem.

It's a shame sometimes that the Japanese aren't more litigious. The guy was a fool for doing what he was doing, but he was also allowed to get to the state he was in because he was drunk and sold more alcohol. I've seen people unable to WALK sold booze in convenience stores and at ball games; no one cares so long as they can make a buck.

Beer doesn't make you fall. Stupid decisions by people to precariously balance themselves on a high wall result in falls.

The rest of us million or so people who go and watch baseball games handle ourselves just fine. Don't need to take my alcohol away, thank you very much.

Just a tad of personal responsibility here, folks. Or should we make everyone who goes to a public venue take a urine test and wear a straight jacket and oven mitts (and maybe a helmet)?

I mean, it sucks to be that guy (RIP, baseball fan!). Lord knows, I've been a sheet or three to the winds before, but if that lead me to my own foolish death, I hope the blame would fall squarely on my shoulders. And absolutely no pun intended.

What a stupid way to die! RIP dead dude from Shizuoka.

Probably just feel wrong - twisted his neck or something.

Its not the fall that kills you, its the sudden stop at the end. Fall head first and you can guarantee a broken neck or skull fracture at least.
