He's right,....it was and still is one of the most famous photos from WWII and getting it right, even after all these years was the proper thing to do. Kudos to all involved.

It borders on very bad taste to be featuring an article about a battle that cost thousands of Japanese lives military and civilian here. It would be fine for an American venue but hardly appropriate here.

@crisgersan. What about articles on the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Iwo Jima is haunted according to some. Apparently, the Japanese Maritime SDF only bases soldiers there for a few months at a time as some get a bit freaked out because there are thousands of Japanese soldiers buried under the runway there.
