Thank god, a new tainted food scandal. The last one was so played. And its China's fault to boot. Bye bye tainted rice, hello anti-Chinese sentiment.

I thought the Chinese Gov said no tainted milk was shipped to Japan, I guess they were only talking about powdered milk. China is still making the headlines after the Olympics. Really puts things into perspective.

Not quite MeanRingo. There's hardly been any "anti Chinese" sentiment in Japan from tainted goods. Jp citizens being wary of Chinese made goods due to the recent scandals is not being anti Chinese or xenophobic. They are being cautious, and rightfully so as this latest scandal shows some companies are not above putting lives at risk for the sake of money. They act the same as citizens of any other country like the U.S. would and have done. There can be no double standards. Any country would highlight another country's goods if it constantly comes up being contaminated.

"There's hardly been any "anti Chinese" sentiment in Japan from tainted goods." Good to hear, but then where does the anti-Chinese sentiment come from? I would be interested to hear your justifications for this attitude. It will no doubt vindicate your beloved Japanese of all their racist, xenophobic BS.
Otherwise, I believe my comment was merely to point out that the Japanese can now forget about their own companies doing the wrong thing and focus on a foreign problem once again. All J-based transgressions will be forgiven and anger and tension will be focused elsewhere. And let's not mention products "constantly coming up being contaminated" because then the Japanese people would really have to start looking in the mirror. Mislabeling, best before date tampering, using unfit ingredients... this is becoming the norm in Japan.

Why don't they actually list the names of the different products as a service to consumers?
Though if you're eating processed steamed meat buns these days after earlier food scares, more power to you.

MeanRingo, Japan is not "forgetting its own companies wrongdoings" by being cuatious of other tainted products. What would you have them do?
Ignore poisonous milk from China in the interest of not appearing xenophobic? You can pursue two transgressions simultaneously.
Also, any anti-Chinese-imports sentiments is not unfounded. In the news in one year: Lead painted children's toys; tainted gyouza; "date rape drug" toys; metal shavings in candies; deadly baby formula; poisonous milk; and these are only the reported cases. Please explain to me how China should be exonerated of these examples in the interest of what: "cultural sensitivity"?
Calling a bad country bad is not racism.

Hey, here's an idea: Instead of saying Kokusan, China, Kokusan, China, why don't we test the products more thoroughly before selling them? We've already seen proof that the "Kokusan" label doesn't mean sh*t with all the fake labels and dirty business practices by Japanese companies, but just saying that food from China is all poisoned is obviously not correct either. Just stop waiting until someone gets sick, and run these tests as a precaution because it is obviously getting to be quite a problem.

Best and practical thing to do is boycott or don't buy anything that is Made In China, however cheap but since Japanese manufacturers deals with China as for their products, WE CAN NOT BE FREE OF CHINA.
Seems like China is experimenting with diffrerent kinds of chemicals in our foodS... to see which chems is the deadliest for MASS GENOCIDE? POSSIBLY MAYBE.

Actually all nations can be "free of China" as far as any products for consumption or may be inadvertently consumed (such as baby toys)by simply banning their imports, as many nations are doing right now with regard to Chinese dairy products. There's no need to ban Chinese products that aren't consumables. At least not yet anyway.
