That is good on government concerning about foreign students by offering financial assistance during such a hard period.

Good on the association -- they realize that by giving a little, they could in the end save a whole lot more by not losing it. It's still not really much considering what the kids on the exchange are losing, but it beats nothing, and the initiative helps. If only the government could follow suit a little and help out as well (but I know the schools are private).

WOW!! 30,000 YEN!! Gosh this may help a few poor students try to live on onigiris (rice balls) for a month or so. Meiji University is trying to do the right thing, but the Japanese government is very stupid and wasteful! The Japanese should be ashamed of their crappy government!

This is discrimination against the Japanese students. Hopefully a class action lawsuit will result.
