"priority given to people who run a high risk of a flu infection turning serious, such as those with chronic diseases and pregnant women."
Um, pregnant women and those with compromised immune systems are NOT supposed to take the vaccine.

This is the problem with these vaccines as most people I know see it.There has been a deluge of scary information and panic-striking headlines and these vaccines have all been rushed out with the same fervour. The above headline smacks of 'we haven't really tested this vaccine,so please be our guinea pigs'..these vaccines, and forced vaccinations in Europe, have raised the suspicions of the public..even my mum who was a nurse for over 20 years,is suspicious about the vaccine. So many people do not trust these vaccines and the speed in which they have been rushed out..This is a shame for the medical industry but an indictment on maybe how sick people are of doctors being manipulated by big pharma companies. Most people seem to be torn by thinking they should be immunised and being scared of the vaccine more than the flu itself. This is a huge perception problem the medical industry faces.

As I see it, the Japanese government is the most open and honest. Government health officials have been on TV saying, they don't know if the vaccine is safe for sure but the risks may be outweighed by the risks of many people dieing from H1N1. They are pretty honest about saying they just assume it is safe. Europe, Canada and the US governments just keep repeating that it is 100% safe, without risk.
There may or may not be a risk which is what the Japanese government is telling the public.
