Monkey appears at busy Shibuya Station

Tokyo —

A monkey appeared Wednesday morning at Tokyo’s busy Shibuya Station near the Tokyu Line, prompting the deployment of more than 30 police officers to catch it. The monkey, 60-70 centimeters in length, climbed the departure board and pillars of the station before successfully running away, according to the police. No one was injured and train schedules were unaffected.

Also in Tokyo, monkeys were witnessed in Koganei on Tuesday last week and in Setagaya Ward on Monday.

Apparently the stationmaster called the police when he found the monkey...and that guy in Saitama called them when he saw a crocdile in the river...

So why aren't we allowed to call police when we see a #"#$ big snake in the park?

Ah, Hello we have monkeys in Japan and they regularily show up in the city. I always joke with my wife that the monkey population is the greatest proof that I'm not in Kansas anymore. As an aside, when monkeys show up in Nagasaki they blare warnings on the PA to stay inside and be on the look out for said monkey, pretty funny actually.

What a waste of man power for 1 monkey...Call the humane society or something; maybe the dog pound.

So where did it go? They could have just brought a basket of bananas and a stun gun then THIRTY police officers could have be better off doing something more productive.

30 cops couldnt keep their eyes on one monkey???

Doesn`t surprise me. If Ishihara can make it away from 5 cops barefoot, a monkey with 30 cops chasing it should be a shoe in!
