And the Chinese complain and rant that the Japanese are evil unrepentant imperialists. Just another example of Japan proving them wrong. (of course Japan could still do a lot more).

So did all 1,000+ laborers die because of the bomb? Or only 32 'designated' ones? wonder what happened to the others

Japan's imperial past forced 1000 Chinese to work as slaves for them. Now some 60 odd years later Japan they build a monument for 33 of them. Get your logic right.

    Triple888,

What I was saying is Japan has been taking steps to atone for her past, not that she had a blameless one.

Triple888 Re-read the article it looks as though 33 of the 1000 slave laborers were killed by the bomb as they were imprisoned at the time(in the area of the hypocenter I must assume) You are correct no recognition for the rest of them but this again is a monument erected by a citizens group that works for A bomb recognition.

Monument for 33 Chinese A-bomb victims in Nagasaki unveiled

Hmmmm... why are they not included in the main monument, you know, the one with all the other (Japanese) victims of the bomb...?

Or are they some how.....not Japanese...?

Oh, but I'm sure that's not the reason....yea... right...

Hell you need to look pasted your views and understand that the Japanese are not the same people that you hate so much.

These folks put a monument up as a sign of change and all you can say is that they should more.

    Why?

That is the killer, if they give an inch it is not good enough for you. Put the past where it belongs and accept this sign.

the committee plans to engrave the name of the remaining one on the monument eventually.

Wow real nice folks for doing this, what ya think Triple888.....

Good, A-bomb victims monument being build for chinese victims.

WW2, had 70 over million victims, most victims never had any proper monuments, that remind us of the vanity of conflicts.
