!Child (6-month-old!?) neglect/abandonment is a crime in itself, as is homicide.
Spidey at 02:21 PM JST - 8th January
If leaving your 4 year old in charge of your 2 year old and 6 month old is not a crime, then this "third world posing as a first world country" truly has some catching up to do. I must assume that it is a crime. Even in Japan!

Yes banning pachinko wud be a great idea, can you imagine all that yen going into the real economy instead of through the yakuza etc Jpn cud skyrocket outta this recession & the 90s wud have been much better. But...........pachinko is like booze & cigs, opium for the masses that the govt uses to keep the masses dazed & confused, easier to manipulate that way

In Japan now. Its kids raising kids.
Kokubuspider at 02:58 PM JST - 8th January
Wow. What a cold hearted, selfish woman. Leaving a 4 year old alone is a crime.
elbudamexicano at 03:07 PM JST - 8th January
Pachinko is bad, but this stupid young mother, going on a date with another guy and abandoning her 3 kids? WTF was she thinking? It maybe difficult to ban pachinko but this woman needs to be put on death row ASAP!
shiuu at 03:54 PM JST - 8th January
I feel bad for the kids, but with a mother like this it was probably inevitable.
realist at 06:00 PM JST - 8th January
Sick. Surely its time for a "civilised" country like Japan to ban Pachinko, which is a gambling fetish game that has ruined the lives of tens of thousands of people and also caused innumerable deaths such as these three innocent kids. I hope this woman spends the rest of her life in jail. Just another sign of the rapid slide of Japanese society into the abyss.

Ban Pachinko? Why? Do you think this will stop child neglect? Did banning alcohol stop drunken parties? How about the bans on guns and swords? Did they stop murder? You are trying to blame an object for human failings. It won't work and that has been proven for centuries.
This "mom" and others like her are the problem. There isn't really any way to deal with people like this is Japan, social services are not set up for this. Maybe they ought to be.
Somehow I wonder if this woman even really cares that her kids are dead. She is probably more upset that she is in trouble.

As sad as it makes me feel, I would tend to agree.

"She is probably more upset that she is in trouble."
But she's NOT in trouble - that's the point. Or, at least, not with the law. Maybe the landlord of her apartment is a tad miffed.
FreeInJapan at 06:58 PM JST - 9th January
Even worse... most Pachinko parlors have their own Day Care centers setup for people to live the kids at while they flush away all their money!! Not saying that's a good thing, but it's a hell of a lot better than leaving them unattended...
rurika at 03:54 AM JST - 12th January
This is so sad. Why are there so many useless parents who hurt or neglect their children?
I can understand how she could get pregnant once by accident, but three times? Kids are a huge responsibility, if you don't want to raise kids then don't have any! Use contraception or get sterilized.

Another incident of the god of self raising its ugly head, this time with a lie in tow. The horribly tragic thing is that this time it cost the lives of three young, innocent children.
I hope that she goes to jail and spends the rest of her life there. The worst thing about this is that she will get off Scot-free, or with a slap on the wrist at the very worst...
