Tokyo’s comments came after the Korean Central News Agency said any attempt to shoot down its missile would result in war

...that woke me up at 5:33a.m JST.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ok, I read ya....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Japan must come to its senses and behave rightly, it added.

Not sure when the last time North Korea opened a History Book, but Japan has already been Nuked - not once, but twice by the U.S. 68 Years Ago.

After that, they did come to their senses, apologized, made up for all the wrong doing, and became our Allies & Best Friends.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Glad that I`m not in Tokyo...

-14 ( +1 / -15 )

They just won't shut up will they?

25 ( +24 / -0 )

The Korean Central News Agency said any attempt to shoot down its missile would result in war"

Um, if a missile is headed toward another country, it's already war, idiots.

29 ( +29 / -1 )

Pretty sure Japan is prepared for it. I don't know, it might just be me, but I believe Japan definitely learned from WW2.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

“All we can say is we will take every possible measure to respond to any scenario.”

Translation: They're sending AKB. It works for everything.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

I wonder if they will carefully attack everything except for Tokyo Disneyland. I think the Ill family was really fond of that place.

Japan is that place that NK and even China is obsessed with but doesn't get the same admiration in return so they threaten war.

Its like the bully pulling the ponytails of his secret crush because she doesn't pay attention to him

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Pathetic. They are truly pathetic.

I hope they do shoot a missile and it does get shot down - by Japan, or South Korea, or the US...or all 3, and then they really have to put their money where their mouth is.

They are not a regime that is anywhere fit to hold the responsibility of running a country in any way, shape or form.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

A first strike is considered a defensive move. For example, if an attacker is about to punch you and you hit the attacker first to avoid being punched, this is considered a defensive first strike. N.Korea needs to be taught a lesson that using war threats is not a way to gain respect in the international community, and it will not be tolerated.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

“Japan is always in the cross-hairs of our revolutionary army and if Japan makes a slightest move, the spark of war will touch Japan first,” KCNA

Abe Shinzo is going to visit Yasukuni shrine very soon, is Generalissmo Kim Jon Un prepare to take actions?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

NK will probably end up nuking themselves..."Whaaaa Happen!"

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I'm quite sure eve big brother Beijing, China is really getting sick and tired of all the BS coming out of North Korea! This is a GOOD sign! China does not need these headaches either so once North Korea crosses that line of no return, China will have to protect its border with North Korea, to keep out the starving masses of North Koreans from trying to escape from the DPRK and over into "friendly" China!!

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Okay North Korea I hear you loud and clear..... yawns

1 ( +2 / -1 )

“Japan must come to its senses and behave rightly,”

No if ever there were an apt time to apply the 'pot calling the kettle black' idiom, this is it.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

One day the NK regime will fall.

I hope the leadership dies a painful death.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

How many missiles does he have. Can he count higher that two? Take your best shot, little boy, and find out what the Little Boy can do, not to mention the hybrid cousins. It all a big bluff on his part. He has played too many videos and the old men (generals) are laughing behind his back.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

This little twerp needs to be educated. Real nuclear powers hold nuclear weapons to prevent wars. They don't go around threatening everybody with pre-emptive nuclear strikes. It's no joke. Russia has already said they aren't supporting North Korea. If China decides to get off the fence and follow Russia's lead it's conceivable that a Security Council resolution can be passed to put this regime out of business for good.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

So you would have to think that NK's latest threat against Japan is likely to indicate a missile test that will fly over or near Japan. But they are good at this game.. So it's probably just some way of distracting what they are really up to. They seem to be taking no notice of the worlds critism, including their own traditional allies.

Perhaps it time, if its not already happening for the us, china, Russia, south Korea and Japan to put aside their differences and do what is required to stabalise the region.

Its just crazy that NK is allowed again and again to have tantrums like a child and the rest of the world is forced to wait it out and then offer things for them "behaving".

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seriously, after seeing war first hand I am adverse to seeing another, but somebody needs to put this rabid dog down.

4 ( +3 / -0 )

It's about time to rid Japan of article 9!

The PRC puppet needs to be taken down.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's not the (East Sea), it's the Sea of Japan. Period.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If I said that I was gonna kill a whole bunch of people, what do you think would happen? We've all been too lenient on North Korea. Idle threats or not they should be punished (sanctions don't count as they are obviously not working).

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Bring it on! Blow us up one more time! We will rise from the ashes again!

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Normally I am very much against violence. But NK is very worrying. They do not have much capacity to carry out their threats today, but in a few years most experts agree they will have developed that capacity. More and more I think we should decapitate that government before it has the opportunity to harm everyone else.

I am in Japan with my family and I do not want to see anyone in either Japan or S Korea harmed by these cult following morons in NK.

Chubby little toad is not leading this, his old bored generals are probably the source of this. I doubt that boy can think his way out of a wet paper bag from the images of him on their state TV.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I regret to say that the time may have come to fight these guys now while our superiority is overwhelming and their missle capability is in its infancy.

Normally I am a" deterrence works" person, but I think in this case that philosophy may not apply.

NK's capabilities will eventually get better making confronting them more rather than less dangerous. They have a proven record of selling anything they anything they can, and using terror as a tool of national policy. I am convinced that they would sell nukes or nuke tech to anybody with hard currency.

If we have to deal with them, we should probably do it while our strategic advantage is absolute.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Tokyo’s comments came after the Korean Central News Agency said any attempt to shoot down its missile would result in war.

So if Japan decided to send a missile over NK they would just idly sit by and allow it to pass overhead without attempting to shoot it down?

What a childish response.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I have family living in northern Japan(Hokkaido). I am so worried about all of Japan and pray for their saftey. God be with you all.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Reading between the lines it kind of sounds like they are going to fire them toward tokyo assuming Japan will shoot them down and calling that an act of war.

Not cool.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

duh... They've been threatening everyone since last week. Although I wouldn't really want it to happen, these empty threats are annoying me. All bark and no bite. Even the people in South Korea aren't scared.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Alright now it is our war. The fat in the little fat boy/man must be affecting his thinking.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

The Little Boy from North Korea >> is playing games with himself >> and end up with egg on his face as well as a Destroyed Country.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Cant get my head around this Fatboy Un thinking! As I wrote before he has said he wants a WAR, but then says he will do a missile test so please please dont shoot down my rocket!

Of all the logic in my head I cant get what this FAT boy is on! It seems that he/they really want a war but will not start one.........!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Or he will shoot his rocket, someone will shoot it down, and he will jump up and down like a spoiled child shouting mummy mummy they shot down my rocket. But the thing is who will play mummy?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

They've been threatening everyone since last week. Although I wouldn't really want it to happen, these empty threats are annoying me. All bark and no bite. Even the people in South Korea aren't scared.

This is just a show, targeted to people of South Korea and Japan. The dirty show, mainly inspired by zionist-controlled US media.

Hint : the single Russian anti-aircraft battery, deployed nearby borderline of North Korea can annihilate all missiles of DPRK. Let alone Japan equipped by up-to-date weaponry.

The USA acts like a boy who threw a stone into a head of sleeping hound, chained inside a backyard. While the hound barking, the boy announces himself to people of the street as "their protector".

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

it is best to let N korea to test its weapon , then to end up the bad regime of communist there , if not it keep barking once in a while for food to people scary . kill the crazy dog is better than keep it survive with its sickness

0 ( +0 / -0 )

lol WHAT HAS JAPAN DONE TO THEM?! Oh sorry, I wasn't aware that "defensive measures" (in response to nuclear threats) were seen as "provocative".

The guy's off his trolley...!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

it's NK's way of saying I Love You. The return phrase is The Clowns, Pizza and the Balloons are arriving soon.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The fat in the little fat boy/man must be affecting his thinking.

Anyone that thinks it's Kim's thinking alone that is bringing this on has to have their head in the sand. He is a 20's something puppet of the regime and cadre behind him.

Alright now it is our war

Your war? From Oklahoma? HeeeHawww........Doubtful that you would do anything. It's us that live here that have to deal with whatever happens.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Oh dear ! I think soon its going to get very hot in NK, not just around 30 degrees mark, but several thousand degrees

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I hear that Tokyo has defence missiles in areas, but what about Kyoto, and other large towns??

3 ( +3 / -0 )

The PAC3 interceptor deployment is absolutely costs a lot, useless, and it adds up worries to the public. There is no way Japan will use it to shoot down any missiles passing through Japan's Airspace because they knew already that the consequences after shooting it are unexpected and worst. Japan has been doing it before by not shooting any incoming missiles to avoid escalations. Logically speaking, it is only showing off to the public that Self Defense Forces are always ready and ensuring the public that they are protected and taxes they have contributed are worth and useful in times like this. If I were with Japan, I will let the missile flies over because it's guaranteed there's no nuclear warhead on it. It’s only a practice of an Amateur “wanna be”. Let the U.N. Punish NK later on once it is proven that they are again violated the use of ICBM.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

All US military out of Japan! Return the land to the Japanese people! !

Oh, wait....

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

North Korea says it will only make nuclear test missiles by flying over the heads of Japan says that Japan shall not break down the missiles. this is crazy. other countries of the world make nuclear tests but are not so foolish as to threaten the other countries. it would be wise to appeal to the Security Council of the nuclear weapons powers delete the crazy of north korea no one wants another world war.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

I presume that the North Koreans know why they would like to destroy the rest of the world. Just considering the differences between North and South Korea, how did such an incredible difference arise, because I really don't know. Perhaps there will be an explanation I can obtain form the internet. But it really is incredible. And where did the N Koreans get all their money from to pay for all these sophisticated armaments?

When the Chinese become concerned, then we really do know that there's a real problem out there.

But it does demonstrate the danger of a young individual becoming a country's leader in countries where there's no election processes for new leaders, and family members continue the leadership when their older members die..

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There's no way NK will wage war to the superpower countries. They're not ready yet and no major movements so far in their military. They don't even fill up their oil supplies, food, triple up the ammo/artillery production. So, it's a suicidal decision if he will go for war. What NK leader is seeking right now is only the "Attention" of the world so that the 6 parties will go back to the able to discuss their demands for food supplies and security in the region. But U.S. and U.N are now pissed off of their tactics.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

The PSYCHOPATHS can't even understand their own words: any attempt by Japan to shoot down NK s missiles ? Shooting missiles at someone IS WAR. Can someone please take out these madmen who starve their own people to build a huge army to terrorize. Nothing revolutionary about crazy little boys with weapons. Lets see you truly become revolutionary and feed your people like your communist manifesto preaches... for the people. peoples army, peoples revolution. Ha . Nothing but OPRESSORS. North Korean people, and army. THROW your leaders out .

1 ( +1 / -0 )

North korea is playing with nuclear facilities it has it seems caring noting on lives of poor people! Lord have some grace to help young head of state to behave responsibly as once nuclear holocaust naturally several 1000s of years there will be no life and vegetation please. Lord bless young man with some humane quality as his own men will end into zero besides others all over

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The North Korean Boy is a spoilt little boy who needs to learn a lesson not to make threat,s any country .And Keep his Toys over his own Airspace for testing. Bet he Would send one over the Peoples Republic of China. or Russia.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Are those idiots in NK actually asking for a war? It seems as if no matter what the world does to try and defuse the situation those Pyongyang morons just ramp up the rhetoric.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I hear that the greatest father is whispering to his son's ear " Perform as a God on the social huge stage for leaving your name in the history." There is no exist of the people who lives in NK.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

NK is going too far this time. But this is the problem when so-called rogue states manage to create nuclear weapons. The rest of the world hesitates because of it, hence these countries like NK and Iran realise they can use them as negotiating tools. Imagine if any other country said they were going to test missiles that might fly over other countries. There would be an uproar. Time for NK to shutup or face the consequences of their stupid actions.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

China is confirmed to have increased it's Military presence along the Korean Boarder. This should be of concern not to the West, but to North Korea. China will never allow the DPRK to cause such strife as to welcome it's destruction and thus have a Western Nuclear power as a gate keeper in the region. Further..beware the 'Sleeping Bear". Do not underestimate Premier Putin's loathe for the North Korean leadership as well. I think there will be a "preemptive" strike by the US on North Korea..and this is why Sec. Of State Kerry is over there now. If North Korea threatened to hit Moscow, or Beijing with a nuke, this would of been all over hours ago, with North Korea being firmly and completely annihilated Beware the "Quiet" powers..for they hold the ultimate keys to where this will lead. I also think giving Japan, South Korea, Australia Nuclear weapons and defensive missiles or simply just the expressed idea that the US is thinking about this will cause China to react quickly to ousting the Fat one and his gang in North Korea. There are many ways to resolve this peaceably.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

well here we Go again, this happens almost every 2 years. Not sure if many of you have paid attention to Asian news media stuff. NK is a little brat that wants attention & even thou there's a "new" president the same dumb acts keep happening i have a feeling its the Government that makes these choices, it seemed as though it was just kim jong il BUT his son is doing it now? well so much for the country changing for the better. I will say this the UN/US/SK & many other countries Will NOT put up with stupid threats from NK. & IF NK does something stupid they WILL Regret it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The North Koreans show that part of the Korean nation is still stone age thugs as they were centuries ago. Japan has tried for decades to find balance with the other nations in the region and North Korea alone continues to act in an insane and dangerous manner. They will not be tolerated if they do any serious damage, their riegime will be history along with the fools who are squandering the North Korean peoples substance on unusable military toys., They are truly acting like thugs and bullies similar to China and both need to wake up and live in the modern world of sharing and respectful peace. Japan however must remain vigilant and be prepared to defend herself, no one else can do it faster or better.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I feel really sorry for the North Korean people who have become nothing more than slaves to a small group of elite leaders, and I sincerely hope they can gain freedom. However in reality the only nuclear threat Japan worries about in regards to North Korea is the burnt remains of North Korea blowing in on the wind after being obliterated by the US if it actually went ahead and tried any attack whatsoever, never mind with a WMD. Let`s hope China invades them from the rear and sorts them out, that would seem like the most peaceful realistic outcome we can hope for.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

My hypothesis about these threats: All brave men like this neophyte leader of NK, communist or non, are scared of dying especially with Nuke. No one wants to start WWIII because its doomsday to all. Now what are these scary tactics all about? Simple... protect and defend by means of missile interceptors and war armaments. Where do you buy it? Whose business is war? Armaments and so forth. Your answer is as good as mine. Asia is booming while US and Europe are not, not to mention the timing of all this islands ownership disputes and threats. Is someone behind all of this? Is someone sleeping with the enemy just for plain business? hehehehe, Careful... big brother works mysteriously... :)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

What I learned over the past two weeks: it's easy to drum up support among otherwise level-headed people for a war - where innocents on both sides will die - through the media.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Let me add to that: war is a failure on both sides. Media through its propaganda and appeal to emotions, blinds the public into believing that the diplomatic option is gone when it's not -- strained, yes. But when the stronger party (US, Japan) is faced with a weaker "child," the stronger party does not act emotionally - they exhibit patience along with sternness. You'd expect our police to treat suspects with proportionate force so let's try to show that ourselves. I think the US and Japan's ratcheting down of language against North Korea has been a good step, now to John Q public: try to do the same.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Shooting missiles at someone IS WAR.

I wish people would calm down a bit here. There is a difference between "shooting missiles at someone" VS "shooting missiles OVER someone" which is what NK intends to do.

Now whether or not they succeed is a totally different story, however a couple of years back they did the same thing and at that time it generated a bit less hysteria than this time.

Stay cool, it's really just rhetoric, but this time the press is hyping it more than last time and raising the "fever" of Japan against NK.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

@Yubaru Uh, what? Who is able to make a decision that a missile flying over a country is going to hit or not?

What do you think the US would do if some despot shot a missile over the length of the US mainland and then landed harmlessly in the ocean? The perpetrator would likely have been flattened by the time the missile hit the ocean..

Not really sure what world you're living in.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

They should lob a missile at Yasukuni instead. They would immediately get China and Japan on their side.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Already early morning of April 17 in the DPRK and so far nothing overtly connected to Pyongyang has happened. Next anniversary date is the DPRK Army's on April 25.

Does anyone know whether those two missing NK submarines have been spotted? I suppose our side won't say if they know where they are.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

How much longer will the world tolerate North Korea? The Kim Dynasty has killed millions more than the Nazis, and maintained its order without world intervention for over 60 years. It drives me insane that we tolerate this; and that China allows this. Time for someone to liberate the North Korean people, this has gone on LONG ENOUGH!
