How very odd that the radiation management staff would enter the room to confirm the accident without taking any precautions to prevent themselves being exposed as well. "You say there's been a radiation leak? Just a sec, we're coming down to check. Well, you're right, there is a leak! Now we've been exposed too!" Crazy.
Accidents due to improper training, negligence, or whatever, happens in the nuclear industry, period. Hardly isolated to Japan. What these workers were exposed to is not harmful to health. Nor was the general public exposed. Quite different from a nuclear powered vessel recklessly spilling its waste, harmful or not, for a period of 2 years undetected. Hence, no need for the citizens of Japan to protest or feel outrage as this is isolated incident to this particular time period.

Exactly. The focus needs to go back on dangerous ships. This happened in Yokosuka, so it shouldn't be hard to shift the blame back where it belongs...just stick your fingers in your ears and scream.

Why not take appropriate precautionary measures first before entering the room?

Maybe they should take lessons from the US Navy at Yokosuka in handling radioactive materials?
Mind you, how many people in Kanagawa prefecture knew that the Japanese had their own nuclear fuel production facility in the area?

They ALWAYS say the amount is negligible and won't cause health problems. In a week, we'll see...
