There must be specific reasons for ICOMOS Japan to oppose the recommendation. The World Heritage List is not based on emotion as much as it is based in fact, and more specifically on the Criteria for nomination (available online at http://whc.unesco.org/en/criteria/). If the ICOMOS Japan Committee recommended against the nomination, they must have a very strong reason to do so. I also wonder what that reason is. A little more information would be welcome.
