Some women choose not to register their babies because the provision does not allow the children to be registered as their real fathers’ offspring.

Nice loophole you guys have in Japan so father can get away from ALL responsibility of creating a child. Must move to Japan and start making kids and I will not have any responsibility for them.

Loophole works both ways. I get divorced cause my wife is cheating on me. Afer we split up she has a kid whose real father is her cheating parter. But since it's within 300 days (10 months) of my getting divorced that kid gets registered as mine and I get the parental responsibility. The one who gets out of all responsibility is the cheating partner.
