I give it three posts before someone complains that this is an example of "Japanese denial," "make themselves victims," etc. etc. Hardly. These survivors know the horrors of war, as do any other survivors of the brutality of war (nanking, etc.). It's irrelevant "who started, who lost, etc. etc." The main point is that war is horrible, and this is their story, and they have every right to tell it as does anyone else in this world have a right to tell whatever story they want.

It could be a TV sitcom series - The Peace Boat! Throw in a catchy theme song, some whacky characters, a few minutes of pathos every week...

Hope they also include some non-Japanese survivors who just happened to be in Hiroshima/Nagasaki when the bombs were dropped. How about inviting some former Chinese or Korean slave laborers. At a pinch you could also probably dig up some US or Australian servicemen who had survived Japanese "holiday camps" in South East Asia only to be transported to Hiroshima/Nagasaki to be worked to death. I cannot see this happening....

    Save me!!

Imagine being lost at sea in a wallowing barge of self-pity?

Shanghai'd to a lurching tramp-steamer groaning under a crushing cargo of pathos. Limping from port to port seeking pity and commiseration from the misguided culture-whores who flock to the carrion stench of self-interest.

At each port purging the bilges of prevarication and grimly hoping for absolution and redemption.

Great original ideas, A-bomb survivors peace cruise boat. Everyone gets to party and travel around the world's 20 nations. Beware, great peace brain men, at work.

War is bad. I think so very much. I want people to think about this problem more and more from now on.
