I can see taking a lugar, or keeping pieces of schrapnel or what have you, but taking the REMAINS of another human being as a momento? Not only is that a bit twisted, but it's also quite inhumane -- even if the guy was 'the enemy'.

Taking human remains are some sort of trophy or collectibles is just sick and disrespectful to those who died.

What this man did was wrong but at least he had some remorse and returned them, I wish the Japanese POW camp commander (or his family ) who who had my mother's cousin beheaded in front of his brothers then took his head saying it would make a nice talking point with his grandchildren would have done the same before his mother passed away last year.

I think killing someone is a far more disrespectful thing, but that's just me.
