TOKYO —
Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, will visit Japan for five days beginning Oct 27, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said Tuesday. During the official visit, the Prince of Wales will meet Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, and Prime Minister Taro Aso in Tokyo, as well as travel to Nara and Nagano, the ministry said.
Prince Charles will be accompanied by his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall. It will be his first trip to Japan since November 1990, when he represented Queen Elizabeth II at the enthronement of Emperor Akihito. The prince is scheduled to meet Aso on the afternoon of Oct. 28, followed by dinner with the imperial couple, it said. He will visit Nara, famous for its ancient temples, on Oct 29, and Nagano the next day, according to the ministry.

Good to see he's getting out of the country - hope he enjoys a break from the tabloids.

Prince Charles is a Windsor and the new Prime Minister is an Aso.
Well, to you lot of Sour Grapers, I would say good luck to him and Camilla. "Long may their lum reek!" as some in Scotland say.

Prince Charles could go for a swim in the moat of the Imperial Palace this time (apparently a fellow countryman thought it was cool...and I believe he did it just to test the waters for the Prince, kind of like an offical Food Taster).
