Too bad he'll never have a life. He is destined to become emperor, whether he likes it or not. All discussion about a female emperor stopped as soon as he was born.

Prepare him well, Princess Kiko, so that he can step out of his Palace bubble into the democratic realworld. Let him struggle along as a dog-faced salaryman, just like everyone else in this great democracy known as Nippon.

"and has gradually become able to eat and change clothes by himself, according to the agency."

By change clothes by himself they mean him taking off his clothes and running around naked?

I'm glad that he seems happy and healthy, but I still feel the circumstances surrounding his conception and birth were very suspicious and ultimately did nothing but delay the discussion of an issue that Japan's sexist gerontocracy are going to have to deal with at some point. Still, given the kind of life the future regent can expect to have, they may actually have done Aiko a favour.

Is Princess Kiko's face frozen in that look? At least the Prince is in a car seat, unlike the dozens of others you see every day in Japan.
