The Japan Meteorological Agency warned Sunday that the quake-hit Tohoku region can expect more heavy rain after the region suffered downpours on Sunday.
The rain is being caused by a front extending from the Sea of Japan, the agency said Sunday night, adding that up to 120 millimeters is expected by Tuesday. The agency issued an alert against mudslides.
