Just another of the 1,000+ quakes great than 5 since the Mar.11 triple disasters. It will take about 30 years to clean up, decommission and remove the Fukushima power plant. In the meantime, it could be struck by another mega earthquake, including the expected Tokai earthquake which would rip the plant wide open exposing deadly radiation.

@zichi: Interesting. Thanks for the upbeat assessment - very original. The last time I checked, the 'expected' Tokai quake won't be anywhere close to Fukushima-Ken.

I think the next Tokai earthquake could be strong enough to shake the damaged Fukushima plant. The earthquake of Mar.11 reached Kobe City which is very far from that epicenter.

No, it was a 5.2, just like the article says. I would tend to agree that it's not news, though, since earthquakes around 5 in that area are still happening once or twice a week.

@Farmboy, I suggest you read the information on the link you provided. "Shindo" (shown as "JMA Seismic Intensity") and "Magnitude" (correctly "moment magnitude scale") are different. And although the quake was magnitude 5.2, as Smorkian says, it was only a Shindo level 3.
