Same-day tickets for Tokyo Sky Tree go on sale

Tobu Tower Skytree Co on Wednesday started selling same-day tickets for Tokyo Sky Tree. Since the tower’s opening on May 22, admission has been restricted to holders of tickets purchased in advance in order to avoid congestion.
A company spokesman said 420 people were lined up when tickets went on sale at 8 a.m. Wednesday, TBS reported. Tickets cost 2,500 yen to go up to the 350-meter-high observation deck. Entry to the 450-meter observation deck costs another 1,000 yen. The Tobu Tower Skytree Co spokesman said there will be a limit of 10,000 tickets sold each day, TBS reported.
As of Monday, more than 640,000 people have visited the two observation decks, the company said.

I went up yesterday and it was great. Beautiful weather and great views. Very spacious. No lines really as they had it set up well. Howev, the Disney style lines were ready and waiting. Good luck!

Go to Sunshine in Ikebukero or Ebisu Garden Place and get a similar view for FREE :)

"Japan Gal": Could you see Mt. Fuji from the top of Sky Tree? Just curious 'cause I haven't seen it since Sky Tree opened.
Saw the line on TV this morning and it looked looooooong. And those people standing there looked hot. Think I'll wait until the line thins out ... and am certain that Fuji can be seen from on top ...

I've been up the governmental building in Shinjuku several times. Been up Bunkyo ward office building too, several times. Each time, I saw lots and lots of buildings. I expect the same with Sky Tree. The difference is, I didn't pay a single yen! Sorry, but the price is ridiculous.

All the guides to Japan I've read state that Fujisan is only visible from Tokyo "on a very clear day". So I would imagine that same "very clear day" would be needed to see it from the Sky Tree.

I fly for free with the U.S. military and can see much more. Nice tower, but really pricey for a ride up there. Gonna decline on my next trip to Tokyo coming up next week.
