What a complete and utter waste of money this summit farce is.80 billion yen is being thrown away of Hokkaido and national tax payers money. And for what?? So that bush and other so called world leaders can eat and drink in style and say on cue, how wonderful the scenery is. They never come to any useful conclusions and decisions. Will they solve the oil price crisis?? Will they solve the food crisis??
huh? What is the point of checking passengers passports DEPARTING from Narita? Wouldn't they be on their way out of Japan? If it is a domestic flight then passports wouldn't be necessary and the only people with them would be foreigners. And BTW when was the last time someone was able to "stowaway" on an airplane without hiding in with the wheels.
They always do this at the Kansai Airport, at least when I've flown out.
I guess I can expect this from Chubu as well since I'll be leaving July 8th. Hey, anything to keep the country safe.
That's enough. I've had it. No more... I'm locking myself in the bedroom for the duration
ha ha ha... and i undertake the guarantee that summit will be over peacefully without any untoward incident(s) !
yeah a G8 in space sounds like a wonderful idea, just get all the 'leaders' on a shuttle and detonate at safe distance, might be some space debris but would do wonders for the planet
well, as you said earlier... Can't have it both ways...
These leaders might be well educated, wear fancy suits and be able to talk with panache (though one of them only scores in the fancy suit department), but the fact of the matter is that a couple of these G8 leaders have gone to war based on lies, exaggerations and cooked up intelligence. It's not like it's a secret. For a great number of people around the world that puts these so called leaders in the same category as the terrorists. (which is another topic which could be debated endlessly.)
Like most people I'm tired of the lies and innocents being slaughtered for some cooked up war on terra. Lets call it how it is, shall we?
I don't care how you or some may feel about certain government leaders. Calling the heads of state of the world's leading nations 'terrorists' is simply immature. If you don't understand why then I can't help you. Good luck.

That's only a point of view.
The war in Iraq (in particular) is illegal so I would say the above defines your govt's actions reasonably well. You are only dealing with superficiality and refuse to see the real problem. So good luck to you too.

I can't wait till the first G8 meeting in Space. Think then how we can solve the 'protester' problem. Good experiment for a Mars trip.

I can hardly see the point since at least a couple of them are going to be guests of honour anyway...
Maybe what Kyodo really means by 'terrorists' is activists. The police want to protect the terrorists from the activists. ; )

That's so clever. Not.

Waste of time and money. There is no need of so much security in Japan, it is safe and nothing is going to happen here.
