On the same token, why doesn't the Seoul government do its part to instruct its citizens to stop being confrontational hate mongers who spew venom in regards to everything Japan/Japanese? They teach this hate even in grade school in Korea. So before they or anyone else whines about the treatment of Koreans in Japan, they better take care of the mess in their own back yards.
I knew a girl of Korean descend, she was born in Japan and grew up in US. with a Korean passport, but without knowing any Korean. she lives in Japan now, and when I asked her about going back to Korea, she said "no way". while Seoul urges Japan to do more, they don't do anything.
I am of the understanding that Koreans residing in Japan do have the
option of applying for Japanese citizenship. In the case of young people,
who although of Korean ethnic background grew up entirely in Japan and don't even speak Korean or feel any special affinity towards Korea, perhaps they ought to consider being naturalized.
First S.Korea should show have a mutual respect for Japan thus stopping the hatred toward Japanese (If they practice love, for love will be given to them). Secondly, S.Korea should do something to liberate the N.Korean population from the largest prison on earth from the clowns of DPRK. And last, please stop being too egoistic and opening the market for the world. It is hard for some to accept that we all are special, and not just Koreans.
I agree that they shouldn't get any special rights just because they're Korean. There's 3rd generation Brazillians in Japan that don't even have half the benefits the current Koreans get. I think that if they wish to get the right to vote, they should apply for citizenship, they same as they'd have to do in pretty much any other country.

for japan to do 'more' means they have to acknowledge there is a 'problem' which is not likely to happen...
